Serving Suggestions

Now that you've got your cheesecake home or to its destination, here are some instructions for serving and storing your Mikie's cheesecake.

Sweet Cheesecakes

Remove cheesecake from refrigerator 15-30 minutes before serving; 1 hour prior for chocolate cheesecakes.

To cut the cheesecake, heat a thin, sharp knife by running it under hot water and then drying it off before making the first slice. Repeat for each slice.

Savory Cheesecakes

Savory cheesecakes taste best at room temperature or even warmed. For room temperature, remove the cheesecake from the refrigerator at least 1 hour before serving.

To warm, place a wedge of the cheesecake on a plate and microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Continue in 20-second increments until desired warmth is achieved. Or, place cheesecake on a baking sheet in a 300-degree oven for approximately 10-15 minutes.

To cut the cheesecake, follow instructions above.

Storage

Leftover cheesecake can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just cover exposed edges and top of the cheesecake with plastic wrap.

Cheesecakes can be frozen for up to four months. Wrap the cheesecake well in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil. Freeze.

To defrost, place wrapped cheesecake in refrigerator until thawed, then remove wrappings.
